A medium is a person who can readily be seen to provide factual evidence of a person or persons who no longer reside in the physical plane of excistance. There are many varying forms of mediumship, the form of mediumship i most often use is mental mediumship.

The First Approches To A Session With A Medium.

A large number of sessions with a medium are often unavoidably spoilt because the listener is unfamiliar with the process.Whether this being a private reading or a demonstration of mediumship in a Spiritualist church or other venue.

The medium themselves is never truley incommand of the mediumistic process and all to often the listener believes that all the medium needs to do is speak those all important words and they are incommand of everything there is to know about those who are communicating through them. Unfortunatly things are far from that simple.

Unless in a public demonstration, usually the sitting is by appointment. Those communicating from the spiritual realm may have already made careful preparation. The medium too will have to prepare for the sitting by reaching a point of stillness, placing themselves in a highly sensitised and vulnerable state.

This is why unless unavoidable, it is always advisable to arrive on time and unhurried or flustered, this will help the medium and the success of the the sitting.

It is also wise not to expect immediate contact with someone very close, often the sitter may find that other communicators known to the sitter will make their pressence felt in the first instance. There are also times when a sitter may wish to make contact with an individual who does not make themselves known during the session. I always say it's like this "You can make the phone call, but can't always guarentee that the communicator who you may wish to speak to will be at the other end to recieve the call."

The medium does need to know that they are on the correct wavelength, and if the sitter is asked if they can understand the information being given then it is suggested that the recipient confines themselves to briefly affirming or denying in an honest way.

It is always advisable for the sitter not to take on a suspicious or cynical attitude. The medium will quickly sence this.

The evidence would suggest that inorder for communication to take place it may be neccessary for the comunicator to concentrate upon the memory of a certain part of their earthly past, and in doing so may temorarily lose touch with other parts of the memory.

When there is harmony between the communicator, medium and sitter, communication flows freely and excelent evidence and comment can be given and dispite the difficuties in communication a lively impression of the communicator's continuing knowlage and loving interest can be given by the medium.
