I have been teaching psychic development full time now for some five years with two established courses at two levels, one being beginners/intermediate and intermediate/advanced.
One of the first things I always ask of any new students is this, “Why do you want to be a psychic or a medium” The response is often, its because I want to help others! Nice response but its not the one I’m looking for! There is a good reason for this and my reply is always this one. “ Lean to develop your skills, learn to work with them, respect them and always allow them time to mature and once you have become a master of your own destiny and learnt how to engage in the flow of synchronicity then you have the skills you show others the way forward through the obstacles of life. I often hear others saying how strange that they can do it for others but not for themselves. You can’t show someone how to drive a car if you don’t know how to drive one yourself.
Over the coming months I am going to share my thoughts, my Mediumship and my work and my life long connection to the paranormal world with you all. I plan to share the history of Mediumship and explore topics of healing, so that I may inspire some to continue with the own personal journey or for those of you already working in this field, that I may give you different ideas to enhance your own work.
The contents are tools that I myself have used and taught within my own established courses and workshops and now I am sharing some of those ideas with all of you. Some of the areas that we shall explore you may already have covered and have an understanding of I think it never harms to go over all ground as there is something that we always miss, yet it’s always good to have a different perspective on things and I hope the content will be of use to you. I am not traditional in my approach to teaching and often it requires an genuine open mind from the participants.
When I myself was studying I would often be show elaborate opening up processes or very impressive words would be used to impress the class of how much the tutor knew.
As I sail through the coming months with you all, always I plan to keep my language and thoughts simplistic, I don’t need to impress you because you will impress yourself!
All of the exercises and meditations that I plan are safe provided you are responsible in your use of them and I would always encourage anyone taking part to look after there health as sometimes developing the psychic self can be very demanding both emotionally and physically as well as spiritually.
I would also strongly recommend that you don’t engage in any psychic activity if you are feeling emotional about life as this will cloud your judgement of your work. Remember you always need a calm mind to work!
What is it to be Psychic?
It means to be tuned into an unseen world, a world of sensations, thoughts, feelings and even to receive ideas that are beyond your normal senses.
If you have ever used your intuition or sixth sense in anyway then you will have used your own psychic abilities.
Being psychic covers a wide range of practices of which we shall explore as we go through our lessons together. Whether you are already developing your own unique way of working or just starting to develop your psychic skills. And with practice and a lot of patients you will discover which psychic tools work best for you.
At a first glance all forms of life seem to be separate and as a race of beings we buy into an idea that we are on our own even though we may have family and friends around us. Mystics have always believed that all things are connected and whether you are human, plant life or other species we are all apart of the same thing. Energy!
As we move forward we shall explore the idea of energy and how we can make it work for us.
When I first learnt to develop my psychic skills I was always taught a very complicated process of opening up and closing down using visualisation and meditation. Often I would loose concentration and my mind would wonder so using the breath combined with visualisation I have now developed a way of opening up to work with spirit which works for me, it may not work for everyone but I thought I would take you on my journey to see what happens for you.
Preparing To Work
The exercise I have prepared for you in this lesson is in two parts and can be as long or as short as you want it to be. It can be used not only for calming the mind for your psychic work but for when ever you need to become focused and in tune with your life and the world around you. This will also help with bringing in the flow of coincidence and synchronicity of which we shall explore in a later lesson.
Most people have difficulty in focusing the mind or doing any form of meditation as the mind starts to wonder. The idea behind this exercise is to help the mind focus and teach it to visualise in a simplistic way, as visualisation can be an important part of any psychic development.
The following exercise can be done by yourself or with friends……
Breath And Energy
Any one who has been classically trained or anyone who has studied any form of martial arts for example will tell you how important it is to have control over your breathing. To sum it up we all breath too shallow, so in this first lesson we are going to re educate the body to learn to breath in two different ways. Firstly we shall focus on the physical body.
Sitting comfortably and in a calm state, close your eyes. When you become more practiced you will learn to visualise with your eyes open.
Focus only on your breath, nothing more and breath normally until you are aware that you have a rhythm.
Once you have control of your breathing start to take a slightly deeper breath, baring in mind not to breath too deep so it hurts and don’t hold onto the breath either.
As you draw in your deeper breath try to visualise vapours of oxygen being drawn into every part of your body. No longer are you just breathing through your nose and mouth but drawing in vapours of oxygen through your head, back, arms, legs, everywhere, don’t hold onto the breath, just feel and sense this flow of air moving around and into every part of your body, let the breath go but hold onto the visualisation.
You may see colour, you may see the vapours, a bit like steam as it rises from boiling water into the cold air or you may just have a sense of the visualisation, it’s your experience! Do this for a few minuets each day and you will find that with practise it will become very easy to still and calm the mind in any difficult situation.
The next part of this exercise is working with energy and focuses on the spiritual body.
Still using the deeper breath and following the same principals as above, continue to visualise the vapours of oxygen, however carried on the vapours is another layer, this is energy, universal energy, the stuff that everything is made up from and connected to. Your life force!
Repeat what you have already learnt only now feel the spiritual self taking in this energy and feeling your spiritual body becoming more and more replenished and uplifted. Try and visualise this second layer over the first layer of oxygen and if you can have an awareness of your spiritual self as you do this exercise.
The more you are engaged in your own energetic self the more you will engage in synchronicity, the kind of thing that leads you to discovering answers to questions you may have in life but we shall explore that concept in later months.
The more you engage in visualising the energy flowing into the spiritual self you may become more and more aware of your own energy field and senses or feelings, as well as being able to see colours more vividly, feel heat, cold or other feelings such as tingling through the body. Become more aware of what your body and mind are saying to you. And try to listen to the different frequencies.
It is important to become aware of how are you feeling after completing this task, are you feeling tired, energised, more of a relaxed state of mind, more focused.
We shall use this exercise, provided it works for you through out and shall use it to explore some of the other chapters that I would like to cover with you.
The whole idea is that you become unique for you. And the ideas that I present are merely to enhance your own psychic development.
Enjoy the journey, for it never ends!
